How many Farmers are there in Cameroon who are actively farming in an earth friendly manner?
How many farmers are there who in a small scale are utilizing modern equipment in land preparation, seed planting,
harvesting and animal husbandry?
The answer in this seemingly easy answer was impossible to come by when I posed it to a friend in Yaounde during a visit
in November 2009.
While we were pondering the answer to this question, it occurred to my friend that we could get such information if only
we could connect with others who were doing the same thing that we were doing - farming in an earth friendly manner
while increasing efficiency with the use of modern farm equipments.
Thus arose the idea of a web based effort to link us together for the sharing of ideas, equipment, success stories and yes
failures in what we were doing!
While this is just the beginning of gathering names, locations and what types of crops, animals or bird are being raised,
the hope that such an effort will lead to a network of small successful farms that will become examples for others to follow.
We hope to bring you stories, pictures and well, a documented almanac of Cameroon Farmers in todays world of the 21st
Century.
